Meet the BWD Family: Angela Anderson-Beach, Redstart Manager

When you call Redstart Birding to order that shiny new scope you’ve been eyeing (nudge, nudge!), the phone will be answered by a real, live human—and there’s a good chance that human will be Angela. And boy is it your lucky day, because not only does she know her stuff about all the optics and other birding gear and gifts we sell, but she is one of the kindest and most patient people on the planet. Providing customers with practical solutions to make their birding experience more enjoyable is her favorite part of the job, and her #1 goal.

Angela wasn’t a birder when she joined the BWD team on June 6, 2017, but if you ask her when she became one, she’ll tell you it was June 7, 2017. What was the spark bird that did it for her? Well, it wasn’t a bird… it was a spark birder: Bill Thompson, III. BT3 sure knew what he was doing when he hired her, because Angela quickly grew her birding and optics knowledge, her life list, and a legion of fans of her excellent customer service.

When Angela isn’t holding down the fort at Redstart’s headquarters in Marietta, Ohio, you are likely to find her at any number of birding festivals and events across the country, from Hog Island in Maine, to the New River Gorge in West Virginia, to the Bosque del Apache NWR in New Mexico. She also is a familiar face to many attendees of our BWD Reader Rendezvous. If you see Angela on your next birding adventure, be sure to say hello!
